    President and Chief Executive Officer

    Victor Garcia is the president and chief executive officer. He previously served as the senior vice president and chief operating officer from September 2010 through May 2011 and before that as the senior vice president and chief financial officer from November 2006.

    From July 1990 to October 2006, he was employed by Banc of America Securities, the investment banking subsidiary of Bank of America, where he was a managing director and senior banker in the Transportation Group within the Global Corporate and Investment Bank. Mr. Garcia holds a B.S. from Babson College.

    Senior Vice President, Global Marketing

    Daniel Hallahan has been the senior vice president of global marketing since February 2010. He previously served in the role of vice president of marketing for Europe from July 1992 through January 2010.

    Prior to joining CAI, Mr. Hallahan served as the director of marketing for Amphibious Container Leasing for two years and for Itel Containers International Corporation for the prior 11 years, beginning in 1979.

    Chief Financial Officer

    Timothy Page was appointed to the role of chief financial officer in May 2011. He was previously the chief financial officer for Port Logistics Group, a logistics company formed through the acquisition of three other port logistics providers in 2008. From 2004 until 2008, Mr. Page was the chief financial officer of Quality Distribution, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed bulk chemical transportation company (NASDAQ: QLTY), with over 100

    locations in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Page was the chief financial officer of Perry Ellis International, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed global apparel company (NASDAQ: PERY). Mr. Page holds an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

    President, CAI Rail

    James Magee is the president of CAI Rail and has been part of the senior management of CAI Rail since January 2011. Mr. Magee has an extensive rail industry background having served in management roles with CSX Transportation, Helm Financial Corporation, Flex Leasing Corporation,

    Allco Rail Finance Corporation, and ATEL Capital Group. He holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park and an M.B.A. from Loyola University in Maryland.

    MJ Dornford

    Vice President, Logistics and Sales

    MJ Dornford has been the vice president of logistics and sales since March 2014. Ms. Dornford has an extensive background in the maritime shipping business, having held executive positions including Vice President, US South Atlantic and West Coast, at Zim Integrated Shipping Services and Vice President of Marketing North America

    and Vice President Sales Western US at CMA-CGM. She has also held management positions at PO Shipping, Maersk Line, and BCBG Max Azria.

    Steven Garcia

    Vice President, Legal Affairs

    Steven Garcia is CAI's vice president of legal affairs. He worked in the information technology sector as senior regional counsel for International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE: IBM) from 2000 to 2012. He was 
previously in the petroleum industry as legal counsel in the litigation unit

    of Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX). Mr. Garcia has a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law.

  • Camille Cutino

    Camille Cutino

    Vice President, Operations and Human Resources

    Camille Cutino has been the vice president operations and human resources since October 2011. She previously served the company as the vice president operations from January 2000 through September 2011 and the director operations from July 1992 through December 1999.

    She consulted with the company from May 1991 through June 1992. Prior to joining CAI, she was the director operations at Itel Containers International, Inc. where she served from 1980 through 1991. She holds a B.S. from San Francisco State University.

    Matthew Easton

    Vice President, Information Technology

    Matthew Easton has served as CAI's vice president of Information Technology since August 2010. He previously served as the company's director of Information Technology from July 2005 to July 2010, and as Information Technology manager from April 2000 to June 2005.

    Prior to joining CAI, he was an analysis manager for California major accounts at SBC Communications Inc. He holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.

    David Morris

    Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller

    David Morris has been the vice president, finance and corporate controller since May 2011. From 2008 to 2011 Mr. Morris served at Celera Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed healthcare company, as director of SEC reporting and then as senior director of finance.

    He was previously a senior audit manager at KPMG. Mr. Morris holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Bristol, U.K. and is a U.K. Chartered Accountant and a California-licensed Certified Public Accountant.

    Janet Papworth has served as the president of CAI Logistics since September 2017.  Prior to this she served as the executive vice president of CAI Logistics (formerly ClearPointt) beginning in 2003.  Ms. Papworth has more than three decades of experience in

    virtually every component of the transportation business including logistics, operations, pricing, administration, IT, and the design of TMS tools. She previously worked at United States Shippers where she was general manager and vice president.

    Senior Vice President, CAI Logistics - North America

    Jason Miller has served as the senior vice president of logistics sales and marketing for CAI Logistics since September 2017. His past experiences include Regional Vice President of Sales at Hub Group where he was responsible for the Western Region account development and sales team.  Prior to that he was VP of sales at Yusen Logistics where he began 

    his career as a sales agent in 1993. Mr. Miller has over 20 years of experience in successfully cross selling supply chain solutions to North American customers across multiple modes including intermodal, highway, NVOCC, LTL, and 3PL services. He earned a B.B.A. from the University of North Texas.

    Brian Akers joined our executive team in 2018 as Vice President of International Logistics.  He previously served as the Americas Vice President of business development for DHL Global Forwarding.  Prior to that he was Head of Transportation Sourcing for DHL Global Business Services.  Mr. Akers has over 15 years of logistics experience

    across multiple modes including Air Freight, Ocean Freight, 3PL services, Supply Chain Solutions, and 3rd Party Procurement.  He earned his B.A. from the University of Dayton and has served as a member of the United States Coast Guard.

    Mark Barry is a founding partner of Challenger Overseas L.L.C., an international shipping company servicing hundreds of ports in over 180 countries since 1989. Challenger joined the CAI family in an acquisition in 2016. In the past, Mr. Barry held executive positions in New York

    with APA World Transport and with Orient Overseas Container line, one of the world’s largest steamship lines. Mr. Barry completed several maritime courses at the Seamen’s Institute in Manhattan and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Monmouth University.

    George Meyer is a founding partner of Challenger Overseas L.L.C., an international shipping company servicing hundreds of ports in over 180 countries since 1989. Challenger joined the CAI family in an acquisition in 2016. Mr. Meyer’s experience includes holding executive and management positions with Cast Container Line in both New York and New Jersey,

    and with Senator Line, a company that was one of the first to operate an around-the-world steamship line service. Mr. Meyer is a member of several industry associations and is a volunteer with local charities. He holds a B.S. degree in Business from Stockton University.

    Chairman of the Board

    David G. Remington serves as CAI's Chairman of the Board.  Mr. Remington has been a CAI director since 2010, has served as chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance and Audit Committees.  From 2004 to the present, he has served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Executive Board of Energy Northwest, a nuclear and renewable power utility. Since 2001, he has served as a board member of a nonprofit that is developing a regional science center and as a board member of an angel investment fund. He is a retired senior financial executive with 40 years of experience in corporate finance, investment, and commercial banking.

    From February 1996 until December 2004, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI). Previously, Mr. Remington served in various executive roles as a managing director for Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. and as president of Steiner Financial Corporation. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a masters degree from the Harvard Business School.

    Masaaki (John) Nishibori is a director. He previously served as the president and chief executive officer of CAI from November 2006 through June 2011. From 1993 until October 2006, Mr. Nishibori served as CAI's senior vice president and chief financial officer. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors since 1993. Prior to joining CAI, he served in several roles as a commercial banker for The First National Bank of Boston, including chief executive officer of Bank of Boston, Italy,

    Boston Finanziaria, S.p.A and Boston Leasing Italia, S.p.A., and later as senior credit officer of the Bank's Specialized Finance Department. Previously, Mr. Nishibori was a management consultant at Arthur D. Little, Inc. Mr. Nishibori is a graduate of Hitotsubashi University and holds an M.B.A. degree from Columbia University. He has extensive industry knowledge and expertise in capital markets and commercial financing transactions.

  • Kathryn Jackson

    Compensation Committee Chair

    Kathryn Jackson is a director and chair of the Compensation Committee. From 2003 to 2004 she served as a Managing Director for Bank of America Leasing and Capital. Between 1995 and 2002 she held leadership roles at GATX Capital Corporation, first as Senior Vice President and then as Executive Vice President. Ms. Jackson was a Managing Director of rail and aircraft advisory firm D’Accord from 1987 to 1994, serving as interim President from 1991 to 1992. 

    Most recently, she was CEO of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties from 2009 until mid-2017. Ms. Jackson is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford University and holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Ms. Jackson brings more than two decades of extensive financial services experience including significant roles as a senior executive with a variety of equipment leasing and finance organizations.

    Gary M. Sawka is a director and chair of the Audit Committee. He was the interim chief financial officer for CAI from September 2010 through May 2011. He was the finance and chief financial officer for Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOR), a specialty pharmaceuticals company, from September 2008 through August 2010. From February 2007 to April 2008, he served as chief financial officer and designated responsible individual for Tripath Technology, Inc., a former NASDAQ-listed fabless semiconductor company, during its Chapter 11 reorganization and its reverse merger. From August 2006 to February 2007, he served as a consulting chief financial officer to Tripath Technology, Inc. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Sawka worked as a financial consultant for several NASDAQ-listed companies.

    From 2000 to 2001, he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of ePlanning Securities, a national, representative-owned, independent FINRA Broker / Dealer. During the period from 1984 to 2002, Mr. Sawka served as vice president and chief financial officer of Tvia, Inc.(OTC: TVIA.PK), a fabless semiconductor company, PrimeSource Corporation, an international container leasing company specializing in high service leases, and Itel Containers International Corporation, at the time, the world's largest international container leasing company. Mr. Sawka has an M.B.A. from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California.

    Andrew Ogawa has served as a director since April 2018. Mr. Ogawa co-founded and is a Managing Partner in Quest Venture Partners, an investment management company focused on early stage investments in the technology industry. Prior to founding Quest Venture Partners in 2008, Mr. Ogawa was a Manager for Daimler AG, an international automotive and transportation company, serving from 1999 to 2009 in capacities related to corporate strategy, international sales, and procurement in Germany, Japan, and the US.  

    He holds dual B.A.s in Economics and East Asian Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara, as well as an M.B.A. in International Management from Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management.

    Mr. Ogawa’s expertise in evaluating investment opportunities, international business development, transportation, and procurement operations help provide valuable insights and value to the Board of Directors.

    Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee Chair

    John Williford is a director and chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Mr. Williford served as the President, Global Supply Chain Solutions of Ryder System, Inc. from 2008 to 2015. He is also the founder of Golden Gate Logistics, LLC and served as its President and CEO from 2006 to 2008. Prior to forming Golden Gate Logistics, Mr. Williford founded Menlo Logistics, a logistics services provider, where he served as President and CEO from 1992 to 2001. Mr. Williford also served as President and CEO of Menlo Worldwide from 2001 to 2005, a group which included Menlo Logistics and Menlo Forwarding (formerly Emory Worldwide), a global air and ocean freight forwarder.

    Mr. Williford earned a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. He has served on the Board of Advisors for the Haas Business School at UC Berkeley, the Board of Directors for the National Association of Manufacturers, and on the Transportation Advisory Board for the National Defense Transportation Association.
