Recruiter/Human Resources Generalist

Reports To: 

Vice President Operations and Human Resources

 

Function:

Develop and execute plans to recruit talent in accordance with corporate strategies for growth.   Provide generalist human resources support with a wide range of responsibilities as directed by the Vice President Operations and Human Resources.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Discuss the requirements, compensation and strategy for hiring new employees with senior management and the hiring manager.

Attract applicants by posting jobs on web sites, placing advertisements and by performing research on Linked In and through other resources.  

Screen candidates, perform initial interviews and recommend candidates for consideration.

Manage the selection process by arranging subsequent interviews and by coordinating with candidates and hiring managers.

Perform background checks and verification of personal recommendations.

Extend verbal and contingent written job offers.

Process onboarding and provide orientation to new employees.

Maintain organized, compliant files and spreadsheets.

Coordinate with payroll department for new hires, changes in compensation and terminations.

Assist employees with the annual open enrollment process and process changes to various benefit programs.

Arrange for compliance training and tracking.

Assist with employee relations, recognition programs and events.

Develop and update job descriptions.

Additional tasks and duties as directed.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years of recruitment or human resources experience.

Ability to effectively interview candidates for various types of roles.

Strong initiative to achieve results and remain flexible to changes.

Basic knowledge of local, state and federal laws.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
